Freu mich schon- hehe
Poste euch mal was ich da gefunden hab.
Gruss Max

DarkSoul TOOBZ
DarkSoul Racing is now proud to offer our all new TOOBZ "do it yourself" drive cup reinforcing sleeves.
The first reinforced drive cup option to work with the HemiStorm “HemiBoots”.
The DarkSoul TOOBZ take a different approach to reinforcing drive cups. Instead of a narrow and relatively thick ring epoxied, welded, or machined into the end of the cup, we have designed a sleeve that slides over the entire stock drive cup. This encasement of the cup, we feel, offers many advantaged to the traditional reinforced drive cups.
What you get -
TOOBZ are available as follows-
TOOBZ Kit - MSRP $40.00
•Includes 4 TOOBZ and aluminum installation tool*
*The special DarkSoul tool is required to install TOOBZ, failure to use the installation tool can result in damage to the TOOBZ as well as the drive cups. Please read instructions included with the TOOBZ for proper installation.
TOOBZ - MSRP $25.00
•sleeves only, 4 pieces
TOOBZ pre-installed - MSRP tbd
•assembled on pairs of front or rear drive cups
-Why work with the stock cups instead of starting from scratch?
The stock HPI drive cups have proven to be a very good product, but they do have the one “fatal flaw”, no reinforcement at the outer edge, and with so many engines now putting out double and even triple the amount of horsepower as a stock engine, they just cannot stand up to the punishment. Short of that one flaw, the HPI cups are extremely well made from quality material, and are properly heat treated, so it’s the perfect platform to work from. As well, everyone has a set, regardless of which Baja you have, 5b, 5t, RTR, SS or 2.0, if you bought your Baja new, you have a set of stock drive cups.
-Why cover the entire drive cup ?
There are a many reasons why we chose to create a “sleeve” and cover the whole cup.
1. Strength. By encasing the entire cup, you actually create more strength along the entire edge of the drive pin slots because regardless of the materials used, or how well the dogbone/drivecup is greased, it’s a matter of simple physics, that sooner or later, you will start to groove the cup slots. By sleeving the entire cup, you create a barrier that will help resist the mushrooming effect of the drive slot by the dogbone pins. Although the TOOBZ are very thin, the tube shape is an extremely strong structures, and by running the full length of the drive cup, a virtually unbreakable and long lasting drive cup is created.
2. Installation. By using a long “sleeve”, the TOOBZ can be easily installed by the end user with confidence that they will not pop off or shift. The TOOBZ installation, and resulting “lock” to the drive cup results from a combination press and slip fit (the inside bore is not actually a constant diameter from one end to the other). The step on the back of the drive cup acts as a “catch” to make sure that the TOOBZs are seated on all the way. The combination slip fit / press fit allows the TOOBZ to be permanently seated on the drive cup, but without squeezing the cup and reducing its inside diameter. As well, since the TOOBZ are installed from the back of the cup forward, should they work themselves loose for any reason, they are still held in place by the bearing that they are resting up against.
3. Dogbone Boots. All factory and aftermarket boots will work. TOOBZ drive cup sleeves will actually make traditional boots work better, because of the knurled texture of the outer diameter, this knurled surface will grip the boots better than a smooth surface, and help keep them in place. The boots will also be more secure to the drive cup because there is no way for the grease to squeeze in between the boot and the drive cups.
HemiBoots
DarkSoul TOOBZ are the first, and currently the only reinforced drive cup offering that is compatible with HemiStorm "Hemiboots". If you are not already familiar with HemiBoots, they are a “non-rotating” dogbone boot that solves many issues associated with traditional dogbone boots.
The low profile TOOBZ / drive cup combination allow for enough clearance to fit inside the Hemiboot adapter rings. This will make for the ultimate protection and long life for your dogbone drive pins and drive cups.
4. Grease retention. Since the entire length of the drive cup is now enclosed, grease has nowhere to
go except the opening of the cup. Having the slots enclosed will not allow grease to squeeze out between the drive cup and boot by the dogbone working back and forth through its articulation. Better grease retention equals longer life for your dogbone pins and drive cups.
5. Price. A set of TOOBZ is less than $25 , and since the majority of Baja owners already have stock drive cups, or at least they will when they start out, outfitting your drive cups with TOOBZ is an extremely inexpensive way to beef up your drivetrain.
So what is the catch?
Admittedly, there are a few small things that may potentially need to be addressed-
Cross Pins. With the TOOBZ installed, obviously the cross pins need to be able to fit within the confines of the newly sleeved drive cups. Stock HPI cross pins measure 21.71mm (.855 in.) long, the cross pins used in the TOOBZ can be no longer than 21.55mm (.848 in.) long, that is a difference of .16mm (.007 in.) or about the equivalent of 2 human hairs. The pins can be ground down with either a good quality file, a Dremel with a sanding drum, grinding disk, or even a belt sander, but remove a VERY small amount and test fit often, .006 in. is an extremely small amount of material to be removed, but it does need to be removed.
If you have DarkSoul Dogbones, or have purchased DarkSoul replacement cross pins in the last few months, the pins are most likely already the correct length to work with TOOBZ reinforced drive cups. If you purchase DS bones or replacement pins from here on out, the pins should be the correct length.
Rear Toe Shims The DarkSoul TOOBZ will also limit the amount of toe you can use without modification. You can use up to 2º shims without modification, anything after that (3º and 4º) will require you to modify the hub a small amount. Using a Dremel with a sanding drum is the quickest and easiest way to do this, and as always, remove a small amount at a time, test fit often.
The bonus here is that because the entire drive cup is now enclosed, and the outside knurled, you can modify the dogbone boots to fit (cut them back) even with the reduced amount of clearance created by modifying the bearing carriers.
With the Hemiboots, you are required to run the 2º toe shims.
Tolerance variation Due to manufacturing tolerances for both products (TOOBZ and HPI drive cups)from time to time you will see TOOBZ and drive cups that are on the low end of the tolerance, therefore it is possible to get a TOOB that will slide over the drive cups and not be a true press fit, you may even be able to rotate the TOOB once it has been installed. There is an easy way to double check, and correct the issue. The easiest thing is to gently try and slide the large opening of the TOOB onto the open side of the drive cup. If it easily slides on (with very little to no pressure)then all that needs to be done is to use some red or green Locite (Green - #609 or Red #266), a small bead inside the TOOB before installation, allow to dry, and your set. Also keep in mind that the TOOBZ are always held captive by the lip on the TOOB/drive cup, and the bearing, so there is no worry of the TOOBZ ever getting loose.
DarkSoul Racing "TOOBZ" are shipping now to distributors and dealers, and should be available for purchase by Monday, March 8.
