Ich glaub von seinen Rennen gibts keine Videos. Aber ich hab mal nen paar Posts von ihm kopiert.
Ted and Brice made me some gear sets that I was looking for. I can not
remember the exact combo's off of the top of my head, but we figured
that we could turn 18,500rpm under a load. Ted and Brice made a couple
of gear sets that would go around 80 to 83mph at that rpm range. When
we first tested we had the buggy set up for drag racing
and as soon as it would get to about 64 to 65mph and start to get in
the power range and on the pipe it was just not controllable. It went
65.8 and had not even staged the pipe yet it was just starting to lite
up.
We went out today and made some easy passes just to check the new
suspension and get some run time on the new engine and 60mph passes
were just effortless with the 19/55 gear set so we will put the top end
gears back on and try to meet our goal next weekend. I am feeling
pretty confident right now, but it is never as easy as we think it will
be.
Guys,
We have quit doing the top end stuff for a while as we have much more fun Drag racing on Saturday nights with the Nitro guys. I will try to answer most of the questions that I read so far.
Fastest we have been so far is is just a touch over 81mph and we did
that in about 300ft. No we do not have proof to back it up so we are
not claiming any records with it.
We have been a best of 2.53 seconds @ 53mph in 132ft from a dead stop.
We almost stay in the 2.50's every single pass and have not had the
timing equipment out since redoing the buggy.
When we were doing the top end stuff we were using the Hostile slicks as they seem to be more stable then the tarmac busters.
When we drag race we still use the Tarmac busters as they seem to leave
the starting line harder then the hostile slicks on the concrete
surface we race on.
I would think that we could go 0 to 60mph in about 3 seconds but that is just my opinion we have not tested that.
The buggy has a CC Racing
Pro Mod 270 with a lauterbach 2-shoe clutch and Rear Dominater pipe.
The gearing we are still playing with and hopefully we will find out
what is optimal gearing with the new engine this weekend when we put
the timing equipment back up.
Please do not think we are being cocky but we would love to race other
buggies with whatever engines and pipes that they have. It is fun racing against the nitro cars and trucks, but it would be a blast racing
with other gas powered cars. So far I believe we have gone the fastest
and quickest with the BAJA 5B so as for the other engine combo's out
there we welcome the competition.
Elapsed Time from a dead stop in 132ft: 2.53 seconds @ 53mph
Fastest top speed we can prove: 65.8mph
Unofficial top Speed: 81mph
I know a lot of you guys think that the drag racing
is boring and requires no skill, but you would be surprised just how
hard it is when tenth's and hundredths of a second determine the
winner. Your reaction time and keeping the car straight without
scrubbing speed all come into play. Drag racing
will show true power and setup skills. I hope this catches on because
we love doing this stuff and it seems to me the first thing two guys do
when they get these things is to line them up to see who is faster.
